Welcome home! The Creature (yes, I read the referenced blog to find out what the creature was!) will, hopefully, be a temporary inhabitant of the house. In time, you will be a healthy man again. I know you will work at being better and it will pay off.

I found your blog on fb a couple of days ago. From yesterday's post, it seems to me, your nagging wife ;) got you to get yourself checked out, lol. Thinking about you and the family. I've been checking everday and look forward to your posts.

Paul, you are the love of your sweet Jakki's life and the bestest daddy ever for Myles. You will never be a burden to Jakki or any of your loved ones. It's going to be a number of months perhaps, but look young man, God gave you a miracle. That clot could have taken you before this. When that thing cruised through your heart, you were one lucky that it cruised and didn't stop there. You have a right to be concerned about going home. It is a scary thing, knowing what happened to you. Talk to your employer and find out what they can do for you as far as holding your job. Your coworkers might be able to cover for you. You are good at what you do and you can find something in that line again if you need to. God is saving you for a real special life. He saved you so eventually you can toss that ball with Myles. Hang in there and keep a blog going or whatever keeps you busy. You have been blessed and for that everyone is thankful. Love to you and the family!!

I had a similar patient a few weeks ago... Only it involved slipping off the toilet and a bottle of liquid soap to get her out. She was tripoding, blue hands, no cap-refill, spO2 of 67%. Totally with it, adamant about not going. That changed about 3 hours later, same ending as yours.

Gotta love those tough, old birds who know better than we do. ;-)

The last one of these I went to featured not only the gang you describe but a flat out EDP who did and didn't have chest pain simultaneously. We spent an hour with her trying to get her to make up her mind. She finally decided she didn't have chest pain and went back to her apartment.

At least it kept us from having to write up the dead guy in the apartment where the fire started.
