Just a thought

I haven’t really blogged this week, to which I apologies. I’m in an unusual place this week and last, of course you know I’m dispatching but did you also know I’m training a dispatcher? It is fine, it just leaves me in a very uneventful place. The dispatch seat is not one of excitement and amazing stories typically. My once creative influence of being on the road has dried up. So unless you want to hear of answering hospital and nursing home calls requesting use of our service. A few times a day it’s answering a private call from a residence who wants us rather than the agency covering their district. I’ll spare you those nail biting calls for the hip pain for three weeks and now the doctor wants them sent out.

When you have a trainee though, especially one who picks the job up rather quickly, it is alot of sitting, waiting and oversight. Truthfully it’s boring, especially for an individual who hates to sit still. Do not take this as complaining, I’m glad to be training the new dispatcher but it is not the same as training a field provider.

*sigh* boy how I miss being on the road.
